Rara Avis is located in Sarapiqui and is a eco adventure lodge in the Costa Rican Rainforest devoted to preserving the enviroment and teaching better sustainable practices to all who visit it

The access is difficult and can seem extreme for those who are not mentally prepared for the experience. .

The tractor ride to get to Rara Avis is an extreme adventure. Thus it is not recommended for pregnant women, people with serious back problems.

The hotel is not for everyone. If what you truly seek is to run away from the world, being in pure nature and deep in the rainforest, with comfortable beds, with good food and no electricity, then Rara Avis will suit you.

Rara Avis has electricity 3-4 hours every night only in the dining room and lodge office. You can ask for assistance from our staff to recharge batteries or medical equipment.

Policies of Rara Avis Rainforest Lodge & Reserve

Cancellation / prepayment:

Any cancellation made at least 15 days or more prior to arrival will not incur in any penalty. Any cancellation made less than 14 days prior to arrival will incur a 100% penalty. No shows, will incur a 100% penalty.

Children and Extra Beds:

Children from 0 to 3 years old stay free sharing with two adults. Special price for children from 4 to 11 years old. Children up to 11 years old will be charged as an adult.
